Apparently, for Pharrell Williams “happy” is no longer only the title of one of his songs. Infact the hit maker singer, known for his iconic and extravagant personal style, is known as the CFDA’s Fashion Icon Award winner. So he will become part of their wall of fame along with Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Sarah Jessica Parker, Nicole Kidman and Kate Moss. The Fashion Icon Award is “given to an individual whose style has made a significant impact on popular culture on an international stage” and it looks like Pharrell matches this description perfectly.
Diane von FurstenbergDiane von Furstenberg, explained her decision by saying “If cool was a PERSON, it would be Pharrell, not just for his looks and sense of style but for his kindness and openness, I cannot imagine anyone not seduced by him.”
Obviously Pharrell is not new to the fashion world. The king of fashion and stages participated to so many different design projects, which we are not even able to count on the fingers of one hand. Like his Uniqlo range, the Adidas pieces, his collection with Moynat, the G-Star Raw jeans for the Oceans, the Moncler lunettes. And we surely remember the beautiful short film produced by Chanel who sawby Chanel who saw the young singer interpret together with Cara Delevigne, Princess Sissi and Prince Franz during a romantic ball.
So this Fashion Icon certainly deserves his victory.
