This is the festive season and a time to draw inspiration from our favourite royal family members from Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle, to princess Beatrice on how to sparkle this season.
The royal ladies are now officially named the Duchesses of sparkle, take Kate Middleton for example, she’s not affraid to shimmer from head to toe, she would wear a long fully sequinned gown, quiet it with a simple plain satin or just leather shoes and accessories, the accessories might match the outfit, but she would sequinned just the dress or by guess just the accessories, a perfect way to wear fluidity.
The Duchess of Cambridge was spotted back in 2011 where she wore a gorgeous floor-length sequinned dress by Jenny Packham for the ARK 10th Anniversary Gala Dinner at Perk’s Field, the beautiful rose-gold gown showed off her fashion sense where she left her hair to flow-long and loose (although I will love to see her in those fluid gowns with her hair slicked back to show off her face structure), she finished the look with minimal accessories and a makeup no-makeup look.
The Duchess of Cambridge – Meghan Markle on the hand is not afraid to show off her legs, and also takes risks with her hair style, from long fluid dress, to a sequinned LBD or rustic brown above the knee length dress. She would also slick her hair back either perfectly or loose.
She was spotted back in 2019 wearing a beautiful glittering Roland Mouret gown for a night out at Cirque Du Soleil. The sequined gown does not look like everyday maternity gowns but a column dress you’d see on a non-pregnant markle.
Meghan was also spotted back in 2013 wearing rustic backless sparkly longsleeve mini dress by Claire Waight Keller at a swanky Golden Globe Awards after party, totally out of the royal fashion protocols. The lace cuff detailings is to die for, and not ignoring the prada clutch and Louboutin pumps she accessoried the look with, her hair was rough and tidy at the same time, very risky and very mordern.
The messy burn was not the only beauty look out of the ordinary, but her makeup too, where her eyes were accentuated with bronzed glowing skin and pink glossy lips. She definitely has a hollywood glamour style choice.
Princess Beatrice, she’s a little different when she wants to sparkle, for her, she’d wear a gown either with frocks, or sheer but with a liitle hint of sequins here and there, and if she’s going for a full sequin, she’d opt for a mini sequin dress worn with black tight also with minimal accessories. Beatrice’s beauty look is always a little to no makeup look. She definitely has eyes for designer labels.
She was spotted back in 2018 wearing a £3,500 Gucci crystal and sequin-embellished crepe gown at the Global Gift Gala not the forgeting the gold heavily sequinned mini dress paired with black thight at a Garrard party in London with her ex boyfriend Dave Clark.
The late Princess Diana whom we all know about her kind heart but her style is soo edgy, when she’s keeping it casual, she’d rock a checked trousers with white button-up shirt, or if she’s going glam, she would wear her own sequin as a hint with another bold coloured fluid fabric like satin silk and accessorise it with a pearl head band or not so minimal pearl necklace. Her beauty look? bold red lips with nude eyelook, she’s rock and roll yet keeping it conservative.
She was spotted back in 1986 at a dinner hosted by Emperor Hirohito in Japan wearing a royal blue metallic tafetta gown by Yuki with sequin detailing around the neck, accessoried with a sequin silver and blue diamond head band(a sapphire and diamond headband made from jewels which she had reset from the Saudi Suite, converting the watch into a choker to wear on her forehead). Please take note from her style this festive season. The flapper girl style is back on trend.
Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden would wear her sparkle with a fur coat to add a bit of modern glamour to her style, she was spotted back in 2013 wearing a nude sequin gown for the inauguration of King Willem Alexander of Neitherlands. She finished the look with slick back hair and minimal makeup, she has a mordern glamour style choice.
There are much more royal style to get inspiration from, from hollywood glamour, edgy rock and roll to traditional fashion, you’d will be spoilt with choices. Happy holidays!!
