As we all know Steven Meisel is a legendary photographer that’s been around for a while now and his craftmanship is always a hit or in other words, to be admired. So when Zara made a stop at Steven for its Spring Summer 2022 campaign, we knew it was something to look forward to. Meisel has worked for Zara in over 10 seasons now and it’s always put us in admiration seasons after seasons.
This season, Meisel got creative with inclusivity hiring old models along with the younger version of them featuring arie Sophie Wilson, Lina Zhang, Georgia Palmer, Jessica Stam, Tess McMillan, Rianne Van Rompaey, Edie Campbell, Quinn Mora, and Amar Akway. They all posed in a studio photo session with white background, the older model was holding fruit in a solo shot while the younger version left the Pomegranate sitting on the table she rested her folded hands.
There were many other shots featuring fruits but with younger models. The models were styled by Karl Templer and they were all wearing Zara Spring Summer 2022 collection that includes lace embroideries, bold ruffles, stripy prints, dreamy dresses, pristine whites, power suiting e.t.c. The beauty look was sleek back hair by Guido Palau and makeup was nude eyes with bold lips by Pat McGrath.
Overall the shot is very simple with a simple artistic message. Although the street thinks it’s bigger than they said “What a stellar lineup! And of course, an absolutely magnificent portrait of Marie. So elegant, so soft, such beautiful tones. Steven Meisel and Baron have successfully elevated Zara to the levels of high fashion and above, visually at least. Their presentations never fail to impress me!”, some even went on to say “This is even more exciting than Chanel ads nowadays,”.
