The new drop from Sam Smith features an African artist Burna Boy, the single is called ‘My Oasis’ with over 351k views on youtube less than 16hrs of when it was published.
The result of this duo is LIT!, I believe Sam Smith is raising the banner of #blacklivesmatter which is what we’ll love to see more often.
The friendship between the pop star and the African giant looks very unlikely and un-expected. My Oasis was released on thursday(30th/7/20) evening on Youtube.
Sam took it to instagram when he gave his fans a teaser of the new single, and in no time received millions of reactions with a fan’s comment that says: ‘Oh my body NEEDS THIS.’ and another saying ‘My soul is ready’, another enthused said: ‘Sounds BEAUTIFUL! This made my heart smile.’ ‘THE CULTURE,’ another stated, clearly loving the unison of pop and Afrobeats.
Sam Smith is said to have been collaborating with alot of stars this year, his previous collaboration was with Demi Lavato back in April with a single titiled ‘I’m ready’. Sam, 26 and grammy award winner said he’s working on his third album which was previously tiltled ‘To Die For’ and scheduled for May 1st release but was delayed due to corona virus pandemic. He said the title of the album does not sound right considering the global health crisis going on, he decided to change the name to be sensitive to what the world is going through right now.
He revealed via Instagram saying: “‘I have done a lot of thinking the last few weeks and feel that the title of my album and imminent release doesn’t feel right. have come to the decision to continue working on the album and make some important changes and additions.”
Burna Boy on the other hand has been enjoying his time during lockdown, following the success of his African Giant album. The singer songwriter said in an interview that he would love to do more collaborations in his coming projects with his girlfriend Stefflon Don,‘She’s the boss, whatever she wants.’ When asked if the relationship between him and his girlfriend is romantic or more of a cooler vibe like Beyonce and Jay Z’s Bonnie and Clyde, he replied: ‘When it comes you’ll see it.’
