The Chanel Haute Couture Fall’21 collection can be called one word ‘old fashion’. Old fashion in a good way, the 38 looks from the runway were all vintage look and mostly inspired by Gabrielle Coco Chanel past looks herself.
The fashion show took place at Palais Galliera fashion museum and the collection featured Lingerie-light chiffon set-wear. This lingerie set-wear were designed in a form of silky lace camisole paired with knee-length bloomers, the tweed trend is still holding its power, there were voluminous skirts, bandeau, cropped blazers, some vintage sheer dresses, bold colours, frocks/feathers, Maison Michel felt hats, the power suit looks, florals, some bridal-like dresses and so on.
The beauty looks on the models were very minimal yet edgy looks. The makeup looks were a ‘makeup no makeup’ type, with nude lips and nude eyes. The models’ hair was styled in a braided ‘mohawk’ hairstyle with a black ribbon to accessorize it at the back.
There weren’t many accessories on the runway, maybe it’s because they were all vintage nostalgic looks. The looks which arose from the 19th-century era. The only spotted accessories will be the felt hat and the iconic Chanel’s classic mary-jane low-heel sandals.
Overall, the Chanel Haute Couture Fall’21 collection is a very classic and conservative must-have that have a staying power in our wardrobe come fall or many seasons to come. Virgine Viard the creative director of the Chanel brand has been dabbing into Coco Chanel originals that originated from the 1920s and ’30s and the new revisited fashion era from Chanel is definitely appreciated.
