It’s the TV’s biggest night where all the Alist celebrities gathered to celebrate the 73rd Annual Emmy Awards in Los Angeles. The event was hosted by Cedric the Entertainer and the presenters include Jennifer Coolidge, Angela Bassett, Dan, and Eugene Levy, Seth Rogen, Sarah Paulson e.t.c.
For the films, The Crown, Bridgerton, Ted Lasso, The Queen’s Gambit, and I May Destroy You led the most pack of nominations and wins. The winners featured Josh O’Connor, “The Crown” as the lead actor in a drama, Olivia Colman, “The Crown” as the lead actress in a drama, Michaela Coel, “I May Destroy You” as best writing for a limited series, Movie or Drama Special e.t.c.
Finally, for the red carpet, stars definitely stood out with their styles this year. The red-carpet moments this year were a go big or go home type. There were bold colours like neon yellows, neon greens, reds, e.t.c. there were sequins, frocks, pleats, swimming caps, transparent dressing, metallics, sheer e.t.c.
The accessories were also very striking, from opera gloves with finger openings to stiletto nails thanks to Emma Corrin and the designer MiuMiu. The opera gloves with stiletto fingernails are becoming a couture trendy moments on red carpets and award shows, do you remember Beyonce’s all-leather look with the same or similarly designed gloves by Schiaparelli at the grammy’s this year? So also is the swimming cap trend where Kerry Washington wore a swimming cap designed by Etro from the 1920s era for the SAG awards this year? I believe they are trends to look out for and only for the selected few.
The new take on silk dress by Kerry Washington also stood out this year, Kerry was wearing a corset-enhanced Etro dress which gives an edgy sophisticated take on the classic look. We can’t also ignore Billy Porter’s voluminous pleated sleeves by Sarah Paulson.
For the jewelry, we can’t help but notice Yara Shahidi’s Cartier necklace and Michaela Coel’s glamourous pearl danglers(her earings).
