It’s that time of the year again, ‘The Cannes Film Festival’ where previews of new films and documentaries of all genres, from all around the world are celebrated. The event was held in Cannes, France, and honestly, as fashion fans, we’re not here for the best films, but for the glitziest red carpet looks.
Having seen the Oscars’ & Met Gala’s red carpets, which are the biggest red carpets in the world, I can just predict what the A-listers are going to wear at Cannes because the health pandemic made everyone turn to fashion as a therapeutic way to recover from it. Yeap, my prediction was right, from Haute couture, custom made and fresh off the runway, filled the red carpet at the 2022 ‘Cannes Film Festival’.
There were bold colors, metallics, whites, sheers, satins, cut-outs, e.t.c. Take, for example, Deepika Padukone in a metallic one-shoulder custom couture sari at the premiere of Final Cut, she turned the cultural fashion from Indian heritage into a modern-day grande style, the couture look was designed by Sabyasachi – an Indian fashion designer and couturier from Kolkata.
Another stand-out look from the event at the premiere of ‘Final Cut’, is that of Rebecca Hall who was spotted in a red and pink custom Gucci gown, the gown channeled everything glamourous energy, from the embellished crystals to the matching of the bold red and pink color tone.
Lashana Lynch in Fendi is just a screaming trend and Eva Longoria in a sheer sexy Alberta Ferretti gown cannot be ignored. This year’s schedule has a lot of films to look forward to, from ‘Final Cut’, to a tribute to actor Tom Cruise, there is a lot to be celebrated this year so stay tuned.
Here is the highlight from the event:
