Nowadays, the lockdown lifestyle had made many crave outdoor activities from hiking to taking a long walk. This is what is presumed to inspire the Tommy Hilfiger Fall’21 women and men RTW collection. The collection includes oversized utility parkas, oversized bags, puffer vests, drawstring flannels, slick bucket hats, knits, e.t.c.
The fabrics used in making this collection were responsibly sourced, they used organic cotton that requires less water and pesticides. They also used wood-pulp fibers that were sourced from a sustainably managed forest, wood-pulp fibers like Tencel and Viscose which we’ve seen in many fabrics nowadays. It’s very impressive to see big brands like Tommy hill Figer consider the environment while making their products. The parkas and vests are Eco loft which means the polyester used was recycled.
Designing clothes in the fashion industry responsibly has now become a standard practice which is very much appreciated by fashion lovers worldwide who also care about their environment, for example, Synthetic fibers like polyester and nylon have been known to contribute to microplastic pollution in our oceans, and in 2019, scientists also discovered that Mount Everest’s snow has become saturated with Per and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances, a dangerous chemical that causes cancer. So for a brand as large as Tommy Hilfiger, who is not positioning its self as a “sustainable brand” but appreciate the need to protect its future and the future of the next generation, it’s a great step for the luxury fashion industry and an appreciated message too.
So let’s talk about the trend, Tommy Hill Figer’s fall’21 collection is telling us plaid, power suiting, oversized bags, trendy loafers, crop jackets, utility wear e.t.c. are still very much on-trend. The collection is available at tommy.com and global.tommy.com
