Although rumored by fans that Cory Hardrict had an affair that led to the break of his marriage, but denied by him. Tia Mowry had taken it to the media to share what awakened her to decide to divorce her long-year love after 14 years of marriage.
Tia Mowry and Cory Hardrict first met on the set of an indie film called ‘Hollywood Horror’ back in 1999, and they started dating in 2000. In 2008, they got married and welcomed two children, a marriage in which they both recently celebrated their 14 years wedding anniversary in April 2022, and in October 2022, they announced their divorce.
“I met my husband Cory on the set of a movie we were both filming called Hollywood Horror in 1999. It was the last year of Sister, Sister, and I had decided to embark on my first feature film. I wasn’t really focused on boys at the time, since I was in my early 20s, juggling my career and going to school — however, while Cory and I were filming, he took a liking to me rather quickly,” Mowry told PEOPLE in 2020.
In Tia’s recent interview with the ‘Today’ show, she said “I feel like women, we tend to focus on everybody else’s happiness, making sure that everybody else is OK — meaning our children, our friends, our family — but at the end of the day, it’s about self-love.”
She continued “When you start to really work on yourself, love yourself, know your value and know your worth, then all of a sudden, there’s this awakening.”
She finalised her statement by saying “And it’s not easy. It’s a hard journey, but at the end of the day, I feel like it is so, so worth it,”
According to sources, It was Mowry who ended the relationship with Cory, and attending therapy has really helped her to come to the decision. She said: “It was all of that together that gave me that ‘aha’ moment,”
She continued by saying that her relationship with Cory is not a failure but a success and that the end of their relationship is a celebration.
She also said; “It’s not about staying in something because however long you are in that situation that equals success. It’s about really, again, are you happy? Because life is really short.”
“I look at it as, like, a curriculum, you’re learning, you’re growing, you’re evolving, you’re creating, and I was able to create with Cory some beautiful, amazing children.”
“These decisions are never easy, and not without sadness, I am grateful for all the happy times we had together and want to thank my friends, family, and fans for your love and support as we start this new chapter moving forward in our lives.”
According to Page Six; Tia noted ‘irreconcilable differences’ in the divorce documents and has asked the judge for joint physical and legal custody of their son and daughter.
