Besides dancing in her living room, working out in her home gym, celebrating the 20th anniversary of her iconic ‘Oops I did it again’ album and releasing a new song “Mood Ring (By Demand)”. The singer song writer and mother of two is making the best out of quarantining by giving herself a new haircut.
She showed off her new hair style in various bikini selfies on IG and the hair cut featured a wispy textured look with a part down the middle. She captioned her post on IG(Instagram) “I did it I finally cut bangs !!!!!!” and the caption didn’t miss any of her favourite emojis.
Although our hairstylists always caution us against giving ourselves a haircut, but Britney took risks and she looks amazing. Spears wrote on Instagram last month, letting us know how she feels about bangs, she said; “I know I need bangs,” “I stopped having bangs in the 3rd grade and I remember like it was yesterday… it was such a big deal to expose my forehead… only pretty people in the south could do that, and I never felt pretty enough to pull it off.”
Her words are heart felt and many who experienced insecurities about themselves when growing up could relate.
She continued, “I met with a modelling agency but I wasn’t pretty enough, so I went home and said, ‘maybe I can be like the older girls and show my forehead,'” she wrote. “I did, and it looked sooooo bad but I thought I was gorgeous.”
“People choose different ways to protect themselves,” she added. “When I pull my bangs in front of my head I feel like I’m protected… almost like I’m in 3rd grade again.”
For Britney Spears, bangs are more than a haircut, they give her something to physically hide behind when she’s feeling self-conscious. In as much as we all can relate with hiding our flaws like big forehead in our bangs and feeling vulnerable without, sometimes pulling your hair back or giving yourself a upknot is not so bad even with big forehead. Many models are doing it and your flaws are your beauty.
