After receiving the CFDA Fashion Awards last year, the British Fashion Council(British Fashion Awards 2019) will also bestow its Fashion Icon Award on Naomi Campbell. The Iconic working model has had 30 years of experience in the fashion industry, the brains, business and her impact on other lives, the African British Icon deserves it. The supermodel from the 90’s still struts and books jobs on the runways from Milan, London to NewYork and Lagos.
She is more than just a model, she has encouraged diversity and equality on the runways and in the fashion industry as a whole, she is the cover model of NARS cosmetic campaign, a campaign which is said to be her first beauty campaign and she looked as ageless as ever.
She is a philanthropist who has pushed many designers to be recognized through her work with ARISE Fashion Week in Lagos Nigeria, she’s founded fashion for relief to aid disaster victims worldwide.
The British Fashion Council took on instagram saying; “This is an emotional award for me- this is from my peers in the industry, people I’ve grown up with since I was 15 years old”. @naomi In December the BFC will host the annual Fashion Awards at the iconic Royal Albert Hall to celebrate the exceptional individuals and influential businesses that have made significant contributions to the global fashion industry in the past year. This year the BFC will honour Naomi Campbell with the 2019 Fashion Icon Award for her outstanding contributions to the fashion industry. #FashionAwards”
