The theme and its origin is known to be from the nineteenth-century era where fashion was used as a tool to declare social status, if you don’t know the nineteenth century, broaden your knowledge toward the popular Netflix series ‘Bridgerton’ – from the fashion style to the aesthetics are all gilded age glamour.
The Gilded Age offers plenty of sartorial inspiration boasting high neckline gowns, sumptuous satins, and plumes, rustle of crisp taffeta, the drama of a princess silhouette. The trend from that era included corsets, long-boned bodices, gloves, hourglass shapes, décolleté-cuts, and so on. Floor-length dresses were worn by women of this age and they change clothing up to three times a day as part of their lifestyle. Gowns were filled with ornamentation: bows, frills, crystal embellishments, buttons, lace, e.t.c. and heads adorned with feathers, basket hats e.t.c.The gilded age is an era where deep rich jewel tones and artistic hats were must-haves.
