Barney’s New York in now a skincare brand after its announcement of filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in August 2019 and closing 15 of its 22 stores. The brand was then sold in November 2019 to Authentic Brands Group which took control of the Barneys brand name and licensed it to Saks Fifth Avenue.
Now, Barney’s has re-emerged as a skincare brand when Authentic Brands Group teamed up with a South Korean-based Gloent Group, they both came up with the name Barney’s Newyork Beauty to produce a skincare line that consists of six products.
These six products include GLOCELA™ Light Gel Cream– according to the brand’s website, it’s ” A light gel cream with GLOCELA™, abundant in Vitamin C & E from cloudberry seeds, that protects the skin from harmful environments, helps oil control, and brightens skin.”
GLOCELA™ Rich Cream -” A rich cream formulated with GLOCELA™, abundant in Vitamin C & E from cloudberry seeds, that protects the skin from harmful external environments and adds a nutritious moisture layer on skin to give it a clear and radiant glow. ”
GLOCELA™ Water Essence – ” Water treatment essence with GLOCELA™, rich in Vitamin C & E from cloudberry seeds, that hydrates and brightens skin, improves skin texture, and soothes sensitive skin stressed from harmful environments.”
A variety of masks like Double Action Hydrogel Mask Sunday Routine -” An anti-aging hydrogel mask that provides moisture and vitality to tired skin after a long week. Formulated with GL”OCELA™, rich in Vitamin C & E from cloudberry seeds.”
GLOCELA™ Hybrid Cleanser – ” Hypoallergenic hybrid cleanser with antioxidant-rich Cloudberry Seed Extract, 4th generation peeling ingredients PHA & LHA, and melting encapsulated cellulose. Gently removes blackheads, whiteheads, dead skin cells, and impurities without drying skin.”

They all can serve as antioxidants, exfoliants, brighteners, ‘hydrators’ e.t.c. they come in luxurious packaging, with a price range of $48 – $168 launching in December 2022. According to Business Of Fashion, the products are set to be available in the U.S.A, Japan, and South Korea. They will also be available at the brand’s website including Saks Fifth Avenue’s towards the end of the year.
