10 Denim Outfits You Need This Spring Summer Season

Denim is part of the spring-summer 2022 season trend, and the trends range from Baggy Jeans, Studded Jeans, the Y2 K-inspired demin like the butterfly embedded ones, denim Midi skirts e.t.c.

Designers visited the nostalgic classics to create trendy pieces this season. but let’s be honest denim has always been a must-have in any season’s wardrobe except that these classics were only found in shorts and skinny jeans. Denim shorts and skinny jeans are now pushed into the end of our wardrobe if not thrown away, not sure when we’ll be going back to them again. Truly no one is missing them! Come in the new trend!

Don’t be thrown off by the word ‘Trend’ especially if you’re a ‘Classic’ person these trendy pieces of denim also have a true staying power in your wardrobe. We all know trendy fashion pieces come and go in turn having no staying power in any wardrobe which is why some gear towards classic fashion pieces that’ll remain forever in their wardrobe. So what are the trends in denim outfits? – Come with me;

We’re sooo ready for Baggy Jeans which made a comeback from the 90s and because we’re in the season of wearing everything baggy from suit look, to utility trousers/Cargo pants, what about the oversized clutch and blazers?. It’s a no-brainer when designers like Valentino, Balenciaga e.t.c. introduced the baggy jeans on the runway, it really goes well with now.

The Y2k trend is also part of the denim trend that’s appealing to the Genz generation. I hope what I’m saying makes sense? The Y2k trend is the fashion from the aughts era where butterflies are embedded in denim trousers, these include diamante studs, pink furs on hats, pastel sunglasses, crop tops on mini skirts (think of all the bad fashion moments back in the early 2000s) “Think Loewe’s Britney Spears-inspired denim dresses, jeans with low-slung waistlines, and double denim combinations from the likes of Peter Do.”

The Y2k-inspired denim and baggy jeans are not the only denim trend of the season, there are also the Vintage Straight-Leg Jeans with the classic washed-out navy blue finish, thanks to designers like Re/Done whose demand at Net-a-Porter is record-breaking. Vintage straight-leg denim jeans are a great investment as they will last you through the summer to winter. Did I mention they can easily be styled with your favorite linen oversized blazers and strappy sandals in the summer season or with an oversized Camel woven wool blazer and ankle boots in winter?

Another denim trend is the Midi and Maxi length Denim Skirt, a cult find for any fashion lover, style it with the trendy white tank top and a pair of mules this summer and look the bomb!

What about the colorful diamond-studded also known as Jewel Denim designed by Dolce & Gabbana on its AW’22 runway? giving me the vibe from my Dad’s era. Something you can easily style with a very minimal white poplin shirt e.t.c.

There is also the Patchwork denim trend, Low Waist Jeans, White Denim, Flared Jeans, and Dark washes.

Finding the perfect denim jeans can be a sweaty hard work for anyone, even for those that have it all together or put in other words ‘Seem to be in control’. Thank goodness, many brands, and retailers have extended and demanded that the most size-inclusive designs be on the market. Designers like Alexander Mcqueen and retailers like Selfridges all have them in stock in a variety of trendy designs and sizes up to XXL.
