The Ultimate Music Festival Hair Guide.

In as much as we love a carefully teased and blown-out boho curls, it’s 2019 and our music festival hair is screaming for an upgrade. And luckily for us, this seems to be the year that bold hair trends and DIY ‘dos are getting major mainstream attention.
From snatched high ponytails to fiery new blends of hair colours, we’ve got the pointers to rock any festival on either side of the transatlantic map.

Glitter Babe

The easiest way to channel your inner Bella Thorne at music festivals? Hair glitter, of course. You don’t really need a manual to explain glitter, because you can sprinkle it literally anywhere you feel needs a little extra sparkle.

Bleached Bombshell

This super fancy ‘do is just pigtails formed into intricate buns. Part your hair, make two tight pigtails and wrap them up like would a bun. Then add bejeweled bobby pins, attachable faux gemstones and rhinestone barrettes.

Get Creative

Don’t shy away from blending your favorite trends. When it comes to music festivals, more is more. If you’re loading up on faux piercings and hair accessories, there’s no reason you can’t throw in some glitter and flowers, too.

To-Die-For Tie-Dye

Tie-dye hair might just be the surprise trend among festival goers this year. It’s the perfect balance of cheerful and edgy and gives you plenty of room for creativity.

The Amandla Way

Amandla Stenberg is here to guide us through our big hair moments this year. Her version of milkmaid braids is definitely making an appearance at our bonfire night.

Glitter Roots

Have we mentioned that glitter is a good idea? When in doubt, go for sparkly roots. The path of sparkle can jazz up a simple ‘do or add a festive look to basic waves.

Braided Bliss

This pierced, braided ‘do might look intense, but it’s actually very easy to achieve. Just create a French braid and introduce colored ribbons or strings as you go. Attachable faux piercings and metallic rings are easy additions once you’re done.

True Colors

Adding some colorful extensions can totally transform your hair — and it’s the ideal semi-permanent switch for a weekend.

Instant Upgrade

Remember to pack some bandanas or lengths of fabric in your festival bags. In case you’re in a hurry, you can always add them to a chic, textured, messy braid for an upgraded look.

Did Someone Say Unicorn Hair?

This ornate braided updo is the perfect example of unicorn hair that is both practical and whimsical during festival weekends.

So Long

These braided tails are giving us major equine vibes. Use extensions to give your hair more length (and color) than ever imaginable.

Florals for Festivals? Groundbreaking

It may be cliché to wear flowers in your hair at a festival, but they’re a huge help when you’re trying to amp up a summery braid or add edge to your waves. Instead of floral headpieces, opt for statement flower accessories and barrettes.

A Single Scarf

This look is so easy to achieve with a single scarf, and it looks equal parts boho and elegant.

Bejeweled Braids

We love a good bejeweled hairdo. This one wins extra points for incorporating edgy chains.
