Emporio Armani Fall’21 Ready To Wear Collection

Emporio Armani Fall-21

The Emporio Armani fall’21 presentation took place at Milan, Italy Via Borgonuovo and was digitally presented. It features 80’s looks, yes fall hues like black, dark olives and greys e.t.c. were in the collection but the pop of colours like navy blue, hot pink, and violet makes us look forward to fall again. The collection are both men and women RTW.

The global pandemic made many designers create designs that were limited to loungewear  or simple style that can worn at home, but with the breakthrough in the vaccine rollouts has given many hope for the future. This hope for the future has also inspired many designers in creating designs that are full of optimism – Feathers, Velvets, Sequins, Furs, Tafeta, Bold colours, Volumes, Cold shoulder e.t.c. are what Giorgio Armani is given us, something that represent a guaranteed prosperous future. He said in his press release “The ’80s were a magical moment, an outburst of creativity, fantasy, money that came right after the harshness of the ’70s. I do not know if after the pandemic we will be entering similar conditions. I certainly hope so.”

Although the show was presented digitally, and filmed against a backdrop of memphis-reminiscent (The Memphis Group, also known as Memphis Milano, was an Italian design and architecture group founded by Ettore Sottsass. It was active from 1980 to 1987 with neon artistic designs) neon colour spelling out the brand’s name due to the current global pandemic, this didn’t stop Armani to hope for a better future, there were suit tailoring, regular fit suits and cropped suits, feathered bomber jacket, peplum, big stripy satin suit, pink-checked blazers, subtle embelishments, vintage dresses as well as satin dresses, cigarette trousers set-wear in velvet fabric, prints (pinstripe, and cable knit) and so on.

The designs of Emporio Armani fall’21 collecton are mostly classic vintage looks but mordenised to fit the Gen-z and the millenials which is a change to fashion pattern, nowadays where creating trend is what matters but Giorgio Armani has somehow predicted the future of fashion. Where we all seek for fashion trends but with a little hint of dated style that reminds us of our traditional values.  He said: “I think it is the right time to create a radically new language, to rediscover the pleasure of invention. Fearlessness: that’s the way.”

Here are the highlights of the show:
