According to WWD, It’s been known there are approximately 8.3 million undocumented immigrants in the US workforce, and fashion industry depends on immigrant workforce to design fashion – approximately 120, 000 immigrant that’s 23.1% of fashion industry workforce are known to be undocumented immigrants.
With the new deportation policies Donald Trump is going to aggressively remove undocumented immigrants from the US workforce from across various industries, fashion industry is one the most affected which could impact the US economy negatively at large.
The negative impact of these policies range from higher cost of production, decreased efficiency, poor quality products due to lack of experience in production processes. increased wages in a competitive job market, and all these will be taken out of consumers
