After the sell-out success of the previous edition, ‘Dap Gap’ is giving its fans a second to own a piece or more of its collection.
Gap joined forces with Dapper Dan earlier this month (March 2022) to launch the redesigned version of its iconic arch logo hoodie. The previous collaboration was an instant hit, proving how people love the soft knit basic sweatshirt. The updated version has the ‘Dap’ logo right in front of the pullover, resembling the iconic ‘Gap’ logo.
Dapper Dan is a Harlem-based designer with a long history of remixing designer logos. So it was a no-brainer when the two collaborated on this project. Dapper Dan is the face of the collaboration and he modeled the hoodie in the campaign accessorizing the look with a patterned silk scarf and futuristic shades adding his flawless character to the classic image.
Dapper Dan is not the only one who thinks joining forces with retailers is a powerful force, Kanye West also known as ‘Ye’ is among these smart minds. Dapper Dan said in an interview: “The Gap represents accessible style; everyone can be a part of it while still being themselves, I still remember my first pair of khakis and how I used to starch them, but you can [also] find a farmer in the most remote part of the country who knows what Gap is, so it’s a big deal to be a part of this distinctly American thing.”
The launch is said to tally with Gap’s spring 2022 campaign launch and the good news is that this second launch has many colorways with classic style, the colors include, gold, rose pink, sky blue, salmon, black, e.t.c, the size range from XS to XXXL and they retail at $98.00 each. The ‘Dap’ is now available for pre-order on Gap’s website and will be ready for shipping in summer 2022.
