One of the biggest annual gala – CFDA(Council of Fashion Designers of America) has recently announced on Monday that the fashion industry’s biggest night is set to take place on November 10th this year.

This time, it won’t be virtual like the previous years where the Covid’19 pandemic caused delay and resulting in a virtual gala but it will be a real-life event where all the best of the bests of fashion designers and their friends will gather to celebrate their achievements.

According to WWD, the event will be moving from the Brooklyn Museum to a former four seasons restaurant – Manhattan’s The Pool and The Grill in the Seagram Building on Park Avenue. The new venue is said to have a smaller capacity compared to the past venue where it hosted in 2018 and 2019. WWD intuited that the guestlist for this year’s ceremony will be much smaller with firm health guidelines. The CFDA guaranteed that the event “will take place in accordance with CDC and New York State Health Guidelines.

According to Steven Kolb, CFDA’s CEO who said in a statement;

“This is an important moment in American fashion. There is much excitement about the return of New York City and New York Fashion Week, as well as the top caliber of diverse talent making their mark on the city and the global fashion landscape,” “The awards are CFDA’s biggest fundraiser of the year supporting our scholarship program, and we look forward to our industry coming together, in person again, to celebrate the very best of American creativity.”

The return is a good sign of prosperity coming back to the fashion industry following the announcement from BOF on how the beauty industry is thriving due to the success of the vaccine rollout and Covid’19 coming to end. Last week, the IMG and CFDA released the preliminary schedule for New York Fashion Week in September with the return of a largely in-person audience.
