Surprisingly, Fall 2023 fashion week is here and gone, it’s surprising because we are still celebrating the SS’23 trend, and here comes what to look for in the next autumn-winter season, which is a good thing, at least we can keep eye on what to wear at the end of this year and early next year fall.
Anyway, back to Micheal Kors’ runway, the brand’s AW’23 collection celebrated all things neutrals and head-to-toe mono-colour wear. The fashion house introduced this trend on its SS’22 runway, and it expanded the trend in this new season, which I believe we are all ready for. I for example won’t stop wearing it, as I can predict it’s the new classic.
The mono-colour neutral is the trend for the minimalist, and as the world is still transitioning to minimalism, we that are fully ready are raising a banner to say it’s the way to go. Neutral colour palettes and wearing them monochromatically was what Micheal Kors adopted for its Autumn Winter 2023 collection, its model wore muted colourways in brick red, emerald green, taupe, slate grey, and snow white although I expect bone white which I think will make a perfect match with the muted colour palette the fashion house was playing with.
The collection featured fringe dresses, sweater dresses, cape coats, power-suiting, sequins in jumpsuits and dresses, cut-outs, oversized belts, fringe clutches/purses, slouchy bags and round pendant gemstone necklaces. The necklaces made most of the looks on the runway very close to a bohemian vibe but take off the necklaces and belts, and you will be left with smart classic looks. There were maxi skirts and bralettes, wide-leg trousers, cords knitwear, bell-bottom trousers and knee-high boots, surprisingly there were a lot of shorts on the runway, high necks and multiple slits etc
In the accessories department, the shoes and bag that stood out on the runway are these matching crocodile skin burgundy bag matched with a pair of burgundy crocodile knee-high boots, these accessories will be worth the investment, so keep eye on them. The model wore the accessories with a brick red high-neck knitted top and a double front slit midi skirt that looked so gorgeous.
The new spotted trend on the runway was the chunky fringe skirt suit, the skirt came in a wool suit fabric and was matched with an oversized single-breasted blazer. It’s the trendy look I can predict will go viral in the next few seasons.
