Off-White, an Italian luxury fashion label founded by an American designer Virgil Abloh has decided to add a beauty line to its already edgy clothing line. The beauty line is called paperwork and the line made its first appearance on the brand’s Fall 2022 runway show where models and celebrities were spotted on the runway with stenciled bar codes etched onto selected cheekbones (Kylie Jenner e.t.c.), neon-bright trompe l’oeil lip rings drawn on the lip (Serena Williams, e.t.c.) e.t.c.
The brand’s Creative Director, Virgil Abloh saw the beauty line as another platform to express creativity, personality, and individuality just before he passed away. He described Paperwork as “another canvas, another surface for human expression”.
According to the brand’s website, it described Off-White Paperwork as : “The first beauty collection from Off-White™ manifests Virgil Abloh’s vision of a blank canvas to inspire endless creativity. Designed to encourage human potential, “PAPERWORK” provides a toolkit for self-expression, whatever form that may take. Tapping into smell, sight, and touch, the genderless collection includes SOLUTION fragrances, IMPRINT face and body solid pigments, and COLOR MATTER nail polishes.”
The Solution fragrances include four different signature fragrances which are Numbered Solution 1 – Solution 4. Solution 1 is said to be a fragrance with Ho Wood and Bergamots top notes that turns in a sand accord at the core with a woody signature of vetiver and patchouli. Solution 2 is a fresh citrusy signature scent with a woody base note. Solution 3 is described as a floral musky signature scent and finally, Solution 4 is symbolized by eucalyptus, lavender, and woods with an overall scent of warm, woody, and leathery base. All are unisex perfumes except solution 3 which has more of feminine touch to its scent, each costs $185.00 available at the brand’s website and Farfetch.
The Imprint face and body solid pigments feature six condensed, rolled pigment sticks in various primary colorways that glide easily on the skin when they come in contact and can be used to ‘tap up’ the face and body.
Finally, Colour matter nail polishes is a range of six nail lacquers with innovative finishes, including a white nail polish with a self-cracking formula that’s meant to resemble shattered concrete called Decode e.t.c.
