Kim Jones is known for is artistic work as a menswear designer who made his debut with Dior’s Menswear, has now been appointed as the creative director of Fendi’s haute couture collection. Kim Jones debuted Fendi first womenswear couture collection that paid tribute to the bloomsbury set (or Bloombury Group – was a group of associated English writers, intellectuals, philosophers and artists in the first half of the 20th century).
Fendi’s fall 2021 collection by Kim jones took place at Rome where the models walked through what looks like a Damien Hirst-ish, F-shaped vitrines with architectural fragments and collection featured neutral tone shades from chocolate brown to tawny tones, olive greens, dove greys, beiges, creamy whites, blacks, all within a fall tonal hue. Which if you ask are more better colour palette for fall comparre to Dior’s choice of colour palette for spring’21. Having a background of menswear, Kim Jones was able to bring that knowledge into designing womensweear he said in his show notes: “Fun isn’t always just about bright colors,” It can be about really luxurious self indulgence, which pleases the person wearing it more than anyone else.”
The Collection was of 54 looks which include sleek tailoring from furs, fringe dresses, oversized bomber jackets, cigarette trousers, assymetrical dresses, cold shoulder dresses, bralets, two-set wear, coats, animal print bags, knitwear, crops, rollnecks, fringe on fur, leather coats, fur coats, shorts, thigh high boots, silk setwear, “Karligraphy” monogram as accents on tights and silk dresses( an inspiration drawn from Karl Ledgerfeld) e.t.c.
