Just after his surprise appearance at Balenciaga’s SS’23 ‘Mud Show’ at Paris Fashion Week, Kanye West who is now known as ‘Ye’, has confirmed a new collection for his brand Yeezy outside of the SS’23 Paris fashion week’s calendar.
The last show presented by the brand was its Fall 2020 season 8 which also took place in Paris. On Monday the 3rd/10/2022 in the afternoon, the ‘Donda’ rapper confirmed that Season 9 of Yeezy’s new collection was held at a private and intimate venue in Paris’s 8th arrondissement with only 50 attendees. The musician also reportedly partnered with designers like Hood by Air’s Shayne Oliver for the latest collection.
The Yeezy Mafia’s Instagram handle said: ‘The YZYSZN9 show staged yesterday in Paris outside the Fashion Week calendar in a top-secret location in front of an audience – some say 50, others 75 guests – that could boast the likes of Demna, Cedric Charbit, Anna Wintour and John Galliano. @onzi8me and @jeunesselyonnaise exclusively chronicled the show with their shots.’

The Yeezy founder, who publicly feuded with his label’s partners Gap and Adidas in recent weeks, prepared the surprise show with designers including Hood by Air’s Shayne Oliver, according to industry sources. The new work will be presented at an intimate venue in Paris’ 8th arrondissement for as few as 50 invitees.’
According to fashionista, the show started an hour late showing a short video compilation featuring clips from John Lennon and Steve Jobs, a dated Kim Kardashian interview, and a video of Ye talking about his late mother. The audience featured notable names in the fashion industry from Riccardo Tisci, Demna, Hamish Bowles, to Anna Wintour.
Before the show started, Kanye stepped on the stage addressing many controversial events in his life, from his 5-hour late show of the season 4 collection in Paris to Kim’s robbery, his recent fallout with GAP, e.t.c., then North West with Donda Academy children took the stage to perform. After the performance, the models strutted down the runway showing the new collection. The models range from Naomi Campbell to James Blake and the collection featured form-fitting jumpsuits and leggings, oversized puffer coats, boxy tees, and knee-high boots all reflecting the brand’s aesthetics.
