The luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton Malletier, commonly known as Louis Vuitton, had collaborated with Yayoi Kusama, a Japanese contemporary artist who works primarily in sculpture and installation, fashion, video art, poetry fiction, etc in which both debuted the first collection together that featured ‘for her’ and ‘for him’ colourful polka dots bags, boots, trousers, shorts, t-shirt, jewelry, to mention but a few.
The French fashion house has now recently teased its second drop, still in collaboration with artist Yayoi Kusama but with a twist. The twist in this second drop is the star-studded campaign of a fascinating mix of Justin Timberlake, Zhou Dongyu, Naomi Osaka, Lea Sydoux, Cate Blanchett, and Hoyeon Jung.
The campaign was shot by the one and only Steven Meisel, if you don’t know who Steven Meisel is, think of Versace’s, Max Mara’s, Zara’s, Valentino’s, and Dolce & Gabbana’s fashion campaigns, the man behind the lens of those iconic billboard images is Steven Meisel. The campaign features motifs such as pumpkins, flowers, infinity dots, colouful faces all representing Kusama’s signature motifs. While in the collection are printed duffle bag for men modeled by Justin Timberlake, and the iconic Louis Vuitton structured bag with floral print (that I will love to lay my hands on), etc.
The second drop is due in stores from March 31, 2023, while the first drop is available ‘for him’ and ‘for her’ at the brand’s website, which you can visit to see if the overall playful collection will fit your personal style this season.
