Kim Jones – Fendi’s creative director revisited the 90s runway to create a new design in the brand’s 2023 ‘Astrology Capsule Collection’, a capsule that was announced with Ad-Campaign shot by Steven Meisel. The Astrology inspiration was introduced on Fendi’s Spring 1990 runway, then was expanded by Karl Lagerfeld in Spring 1993, modeled by the likes of Tyra Banks, Kimora Lee Simon, etc.
Kim Jones was really careful with the new updates, although with new silhouettes and colours the designs from the old series were not lost especially in the swimwear in the collection. The summer 2023 capsule also features silk swimwear with zodiac sign signatures printed on them, and the same design was also extended to a silk bomber jacket, silk midi skirt, silk shorts, silk shirt, silk scarfs, etc, still in the collection we have the crochet bucket hat, textured slides design in the trending chunky sole sandals, bucket bags, textured Fendi first bag & sandals, along with updated mini hobo bag. The fun part will be the volleyball made with leather and the Fendi logo all over it “We now have a designer beach volleyball” lol!
