Beauty Trends That Are Taking Over for 2019

Last year was a stellar year for beauty. The industry did not just evolve; it also paved the way for some very real representation when it came to diversity. But we hope this year leaves a bigger impact — and as far as we’re concerned, the wheels are already churning.

This year is already shaping up to be one for the books. The Spring 2019 Haute Couture and Fall 2019 runways made some very adventurous strides, and we can’t wait to try each of these out. Here are some of the biggest beauty moments of 2019 so far.

Heavy Sparkle

We all trust Rodarte when it comes to any festive beauty trend. James Kaliardos used NARS’ Audacious range to create this heavy glitter effect at the brand’s Fall 2019 show.

The Messy Liner

The Christian Dior Spring 2019 Haute Couture show proved how wearable dramatic liner can really be. Just use a dark liner to circle your eyes and carefully draw the short line downward. Blur the edges and finish up with a kohl pencil of the same color.

RiRi and the Bob

We’ll take a minute here to take some notes on Rihanna’s freshest ‘do ever. We don’t know if it’s the perfect asymmetrical styling or the gloss or just the fact that it’s RiRi, this is what we want this summer.

The Shag Is Back

Just a heads-up: 2019 is very big on the shag and it’s the easiest high street look you can possibly opt for this season. One of our top picks? Shag bangs.

Beauty and the Headband

Salma Hayek is trying to bring the 20s back and we are all here for it. The actress jazzed up her top knot with an elaborate beaded headband, which also complemented her black gown.

The Stroke of Genius

Makeup artist Romy Soleimani created this look for Carolina Herrera Fall 2019 using neon pop colors. What really works for us is the easy relevance of this eyeshadow — you can try something very similar with just a neon eye pencil.

Eyes and Brows

Dua Lipa’s eyebrows could get their own sitcom and we’d watch it every day. Going for super bushy brows to complement the ultimate smoky eye is the easiest way to add definition to your glow-up. Dua is sporting pretty run-of-the-mill smoky eye makeup, but it really stands out thanks to her impeccably styled brows.
