When I heard about solid perfumes, I asked myself if there’s any worth having them in my beauty arsenal, and then I realise that as much as we love our favorite beautiful bottled perfumes, they can sometimes break when on the go with need to refresh. If you’ve ever had the misfortune of breaking your cult expensive fragrance when out and about, then you’d know what I mean.
This is why I’m introducing you to solid perfumes, apparently solid perfumes have been around for a while – we’re talking centuries, and have gained popularity till today. If you travel a lot for work or getting ready for the summer holidays then a solid state of your favorite fragrance will save you the headache of breaking your perfume bottles.
According to Wikipedia ‘Solid perfumes or cream perfumes are perfumes in solid state rather than the liquid mix of alcohol (ethanol) and water used in Eau de parfum, eau de toilette, eau de cologne, etc. Normally the substance that gives the cream its base comes from a type of wax that is initially melted. Once melted, a scent or several scents may be added.’
The advantage of carrying solid perfumes on busy days at work or while joggling with languages during holiday travel is that they don’t easily get broken, even if the compact or container gets broken, you can still make good use of the fragrance for an emergency refresh while your liquid fragrance can be saved at home for days you’re not in a rush.
They’re so compactly designed that they will fit any of your cosmetic bags or handbags, they can be used as a fragrance base for any other fragrances, they have more staying power, and there’s more control when it comes to application. Oh! Speaking of application, you only need to dab and swipe two to three times so as to build up the fragrance.
